This Walking foot is also known as an Even Feed Foot or a Duel Feed Foot for Old Style Bernina Sewing Machines.

The walking foot has a set of feed dogs which work in tandem with the feed dogs on your sewing machine.

The feed dogs move the fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed dogs (known as walking the material) to better control difficult fabrics as well as multiple layers of fabric.

The walking foot is great for quilting, sewing when matching prints or plaids or fabric drift is an issue.

This foot is not made by the Bernina sewing machine company, but is made to fit the Bernina machines.

Great for keeping quilt layers from shifting when sewing and keeping stripes and checks matched.
